Since 1965, the Anzac Day Trust Fund has provided annual grants to organisations that support the welfare of veterans, their families and their dependents, in Queensland.

Donations

The Anzac Day Trust Fund is principally made up of State Government funding, however, donations from the broader community are welcomed.

All donations contribute to supporting the welfare of veterans, their families and dependents, through grants made to eligible organisations in Queensland.

Anzac Day Trust Fund Grant Program 2026

The Queensland Veterans’ Council is ensuring that the 2026 grant program delivers outcomes that achieve an increased impact for the veteran community in Queensland. In 2026 a funding pool of approximately $1.7 million is available for distribution through the Anzac Day Trust Fund.

This year the Queensland Veterans’ Council delivered the grant program through two separate streams:

  • Stream A: Grants up to $10,000 for retrospective reimbursement of expenditure incurred during the 2024-2025 Australian Tax Office Financial Year. This funding stream is only available to small organisations.
  • Stream B: Competitive grants of up to $100,000 each for innovative projects to address the needs of veterans and their dependents over a 12-month period. Applicants are required to demonstrate how their activities will provide improved outcomes for the veteran community.

Stream A

The 2026 round of Stream A is now open for applications.

Applicants should read the Guidelines before submitting an application. Please click on below link for a copy of the Stream A Guidelines.

Applications must be submitted online through Smartygrants. Please follow this link for Stream A applications on Smartygrants:

The closing date for applications in Monday 8 June 2026 at 11:59PM. Late applications will not be accepted.

Applicants should note that in past years the program has been significantly oversubscribed, and the total funding request has exceeded the available funding pool. To ensure fairness and equity, funding is apportioned across eligible applicants. This approach allows the Queensland Veterans Council to support as many applicants as possible while adhering to the program objectives. We thank all applicants for their understanding and their commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families.

Stream B

The 2026 round of Stream B will be opened at a later date this year once the details have been finalised.

Previous applicants and those organisations who have contacted us already will be notified of the opening via email. We will also publish the opening date on this website, as well as advertising to the public. If you would like to be notified of the opening by email, and are not yet on our database, please contact us on anzacdaytrustfund@qvc.qld.gov.au

Future applicants should note that Stream B is a competitive grant program. All applications are assessed through a rigorous, merit-based process to ensure that grants are directed to initiatives that best demonstrate the potential to benefit the veteran community.

Please note that the 2026 Guidelines may be subject to amendments; however, the 2025 Guidelines are available below to provide a general understanding of the program and its requirements.
